Caring for Your Clothes & Products

Garments Dyed with Plants

Embark on a journey with our plant-dyed garments—a craft from the past, where colors are sourced directly from nature without the use of harmful synthetic chemicals. All waste is organic and compostable.

To maintain the vivid hues in your plant-dyed garments, follow these steps:

  1. Gently hand-wash the garments in cold water using a natural, delicate soap. Avoid direct contact with soap or powder; it's preferable to make the water soapy. Do not use Soap Berries, as a natural active ingredient may cause the dye to run.
  2. Place the garment in the water and give it a gentle swirl wash. Drain the water into a nearby plant, then refill with clean, cold water. Rinse the garment by swishing it around a few more times, gently pressing to remove excess water. Avoid wringing or twisting to maintain the garment's shape and protect the plant-based dye.
  3. Reshape the garment and lay it flat on a drying rack or a fresh towel to air dry. Steer clear of strong chemicals like bleach and citrus juice, and minimize exposure to direct sunlight, as natural dyes may fade over time.
  4. Steaming or ironing can be done on a low setting, exercising extra care.

Other Garments

For items such as bathers and leggings, a regular cold wash suffices. Consider optimizing water usage with full loads and eco-friendly, plant-based detergents. Air dry these garments flat or hang them out to dry. Your thoughtful care ensures the longevity of your wardrobe.

Our advice on polyester

Guess what? We've got some cool tips about polyester that will make you the superhero of sustainability!

So, check it out: While all synthetics might throw a little party for microplastic pollution, none of those polyester alternatives can exactly be labeled as the superheroes of sustainable fabrics. But, hold your horses, because we're on a mission to create a closed loop to recycle waste and dodge those non-renewable materials like pros!

To be the eco-warrior you were born to be, try spicing up your laundry routine. Get yourself a snazzy washing bag or throw in some laundry machine filters in your home sweet home. These nifty products won't magically make those tiny microfibers disappear, but they'll show them who's boss by slashing over 90% of the waste!

Oh, and here's a little secret: Not all fabrics are created equal when it comes to microfibers. The longer and smoother the thread, the less likely it is to shed microplastics. So, say no to fluffy polyester fabrics and embrace the tightly woven champs instead. Your threads will thank you, and the planet will do a little happy dance! 🌎✨

Recycled polyester

Recycled polyester is made from PET—the same recyclable material used in clear plastic bottles. Recycling plastics helps save energy and water that would be wasted producing new materials, stops plastic waste from going to landfills, and cuts greenhouse emissions.

Recycled polyester also plays its role of a print-on-demand all-over print sustainable fabric. It’s a great alternative to conventional polyester that works for sublimation. You can also find recycled polyester in our Product Catalog, where we turned it into a timeless high-waisted bikini.

Biobased polyester

The main difference between biobased polyester and conventional polyester lies in the raw materials used. Biobased polyester is made from renewable sources such as crops or bio-waste. Although biobased polyester is still in its early stage of development, it already sounds like a promising alternative to conventional polyester.

Biobased polyester is biodegradable as well as biocompatible, meaning, it’s not harmful or toxic for industry workers, consumers, or nature. Aside from being used in the fashion industry, biobased polyester is also used in disposable drinkware and food container production, as well as in the medical and pharmaceutical industry.

While switching to sustainable fabrics is great, remember that the most sustainable action you can take is to wear everything you already have till the seams tear apart. And even then you can repair the clothing and continue wearing it.
